Join us for some adaptive shore fishing! We have various gripping aids, an all-terrain wheelchair and an electric fishing rod/reel that allows the user to reel in a fish with the touch of a button, flick of the head, stomp of the foot or sip of a straw. Whatever your needs we can introduce you to the joys of fishing!
* An Alberta fishing license is required to take part in our fishing experiences ~ available to purchase online at
Hunting and Fishing Licenses - AlbertaRELM.
Clients/Caregivers/Family members DO NOT require a Sportfishing license if:
- You hold a 'Certificate of Indian Status', or
- You are under 16 years of age, or
- You are an Alberta resident aged 65 and up
During Alberta's free fishing weekend on July 12th and 13th, fishing licenses are not required for ANYONE

Any experience you book with Adaptable Outdoors...
Our goal is to create a safe and fun adventure! All levels of experience and ability are welcome. Adaptable Outdoors staff and volunteers provide support and equipment as needed for clients.
Registration is open to children (ages 4+), adults and seniors living with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. We ask that children under the age of 12 be accompanied by a parent/guardian or caregiver.
Family members/caregivers are welcome to attend with the participant (for FREE) and take part in the activity too.
All clients and caregivers must be registered on the site to attend our programs, please ensure you click the "Add Another Registrant" button at the bottom of this page and register all people planning to attend our programs.
If you are registering for the client and yourself, please register for the client first to ensure they have a spot.
~ Location for Shore Fishing: If the location is listed TBA, we will inform you of the location immediately after we have determined the needs of the registered clients.
Adaptable Outdoors staff/volunteers DO NOT provide personal care (eg. feeding/toileting).
For clients of any age needing assistance with personal care, we ask that a caregiver be present.
* If you are a new client you will be asked to complete an online client assessment form once you have booked. A phone number is also required for booking, clients/caregivers may also be contacted for a short phone consult before programming, so we can ensure we provide the right equipment for your needs.

Children/Youth may be eligible for Jumpstart Grant
(Note: must attend 5 weeks of programs - at least one session per week - to be eligible)
Participants ineligible for Jumpstart Grant: Financial assistance is available based on need.
