Come join us for a fun day out on the water!
Depending on participants' goals and abilities, we offer paddling from our fully adaptive kayaks or canoe. We have a variety of adaptive equipment available including specialized seating with full lateral supports, outriggers for added stability and various gripping aids to help the user hold the paddle. Adaptable Outdoors staff and volunteers provide support as needed. For safety, we always paddle together as a group.

Clients/Caregivers/Family members DO NOT require a Sportfishing license if:
During Alberta's free fishing weekend on July 12th, fishing licenses are not required for ANYONE. thanks to funding from the Henry S. Varley fund, trying our activities is also FREE this weekend for both paddling and fishing!
Any experience you book with Adaptable Outdoors...
Our goal is to create a safe and fun adventure! All levels of experience and ability are welcome. Adaptable Outdoors staff and volunteers will provide support as needed.
Registration is open to children (ages 4+), adults and seniors living with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. We ask that children under the age of 12 be accompanied by a parent/guardian or caregiver.
Family members, friends, or caregivers are welcome to attend with the participant . For caregivers/family members that wish to use our equipment (kayaks/canoes), there is no cost to join the adventure, however, donations are greatly appreciated and allow us to keep our programs low cost.
We cannot guarantee we will have equipment available for all caregivers/family members. Caregivers/family members are welcome to bring their own equipment if that is an option for them.
All people attending our programs must be registered on this site, please ensure to click the "Add Another Registrant" button at the bottom of the page to register all people attending.
Caregivers/family members: If signing up your client/family member please select Adaptive Paddling Client at the top, then once you have registered your client, hit Add another registrant to register yourself or any other caregivers attending.
If you are registering for the client and yourself, please register for the client first to ensure they have a spot.
Adaptable Outdoors staff/volunteers DO NOT provide personal care (eg. feeding/toileting). For clients of any age needing assistance with personal care, we require that a caregiver be present.
* If you are a new client you will be asked to fill out an online client assessment form. A phone number is also required for booking, we may contact you for a short telephone consult before your experience to ensure we provide the right support and equipment to meet your needs.
(Note: must attend 5 weeks of programs - at least one session per week - to be eligible)
Select this option if you are a family member or caregiver of the client that wishes to use one of our kayaks/canoes to join the experience. Please note equipment and space are limited, we will do our best to provide equipment but we cannot guarantee a spot.
If you are bringing your own equipment or wish to stay on shore then please select this option.
Clients/Caregivers/Family Members: If you are looking for a full-day paddling experience be sure to select the morning and afternoon session for the date you wish to attend.
